Khoudia Touré
Choreographer

Who is Khoudia?

Born into a mixed-race family of Senegalese and French descent, Khoudia Touré built her artistic career within the Hip Hop scene of both countries. Immersed in the energy of Senegalese Hip Hop since her adolescence, she is a self-taught dancer, having studied in Paris and then New York. Between 2014 and 2016, she co-directed the "Sunu Street" ("Our Street") project, a cultural transmission initiative that marked the emergence of a talented new generation of Hip Hop dancers in Senegal. This project introduced her to the concept of social art, serving a community.

The Black Sea

His choreographic work began collectively with Compagnie La Mer Noire, creating two pieces: "Gaou!" and "Lowela," which blend a hybrid movement style combining Hip Hop, Krump, traditional and Afro-modern dance, and floor work. The company performs in Europe and Africa (Senegal, South Africa, Kenya, Gabon, Benin, Cameroon) through its shows, workshops, and performances that combine dance, music, and visual arts.
Between 2018 and 2020, Khoudia was named a "Protégée" in the Dance category of the Rolex Mentor and Protégée Arts Initiative program. She was mentored by Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite and observed her creative processes with several companies, including the Paris Opera, Nederlands Dance Theater, and Kidd Pivot.

Aida Colmenero and Sandrine Lescourant

Khoudia works as an interpreter for choreographers Aida Colmenero Diaz on the creation "She poems"; and Sandrine Lescourant, on the creation "Anyway" which explores the notion of resilience through workshops with women detained at the Rennes Penitentiary Centre.
In 2022, she joined the Territoire(s) de la danse program as an Associate Artist at the Théâtre Louis Aragon for the writing of her first play "Óró".
This show, which brings together young adults from three continents, exists in a trio format but also in a participatory format, inviting emerging dancers who participated in the creation process onto the stage, from Northern Senegal, to Gandiole and Saint-Louis, then to Dakar, Vancouver, Tremblay and even Athens.
Khoudia currently works as an Associate Artist at the Théâtre de Corbeil-Essonnes.
