""I see dance as a gateway to the unknown. The capacity within each of us to use movement as an infinite source of elevation.""

Khoudia Touré

Born into a family of Senegalese and French descent, Khoudia Touré built her artistic career within the Hip Hop scene of both countries. Immersed in the energy of Senegalese Hip Hop, she is a self-taught dancer. Between 2014 and 2016, she co-directed the "Sunu Street" ("Our Street") project, a cultural transmission initiative that marked the emergence of a talented new generation of Hip Hop dancers in Senegal. This project introduced her to the concept of social art, serving a community.

""Placing humanity at the heart of my creations, inspiring shows with actions, encounters and projects engaged in real life.""

Compagnie La Mer Noire

Khoudia's choreographic work began collectively with Compagnie La Mer Noire, creating two pieces, "Gaou!" and "Lowela." Their hybrid movement style blends Hip Hop, Krump, traditional dance, Afro-modern dance, and floor work. The company performed in Europe and Africa (Senegal, South Africa, Kenya, Gabon, Benin, Cameroon) through shows, workshops, and performances that combine dance, music, and visual arts.
Between 2018 and 2020, Khoudia was named a Protégée in the Dance category of the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative. Her mentor was the renowned Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite. She observed Pite's creative processes with several companies, including the Paris Opera, Nederlands Dance Theater, and Kidd Pivot.

Khoudia worked as a dancer for choreographer Sandrine Lescourant on the creation "Anyway": an exploration of resilience created with women in jails at the Rennes Penitentiary Centre.

Óró

Dakar, Tremblay, Vancouver, Athens

In 2022, she joined the Territoire(s) de la danse program as an Associate Artist at Théâtre Louis Aragon for the writing of her first piece "Óró", supported by Cie Art-Track.

Bringing together young adults from three continents, Óró is danced as a trio but also in a participatory format: emerging dancers who participated in the creative process are invited onto the stage. They come from northern Senegal (Gandiole and Saint-Louis), Dakar, Vancouver, Tremblay and even Athens.

Khoudia currently works as an Associate Artist at the Théâtre de Corbeil-Essonnes.

International competitions, workshops, training courses... and the birth of the KHOR Company

Khoudia has distinguished herself in several international and renowned HipHop competitions (Japan, United States, Canada, Sweden, United Kingdom).
She teaches in workshops and within professional training programs (Théâtre du Corps- Pietragalla-Derouault, Skating School of Switzerland, Modus Operandi).

All these experiences continue to fuel her conviction that dance allows one to transcend imaginary boundaries and lead her in 2023 to the creation of Compagnie KHOR.
